Preparation for Goethe consists of general German courses, preparing for levels A1 to C2. Learning objectives and contents are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Content of exams
Zertifikat A1
It presupposes very simple linguistic knowledge.
The student can be understood when an interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly. He can understand and use everyday expressions.
– Reading comprehension: 25 minutes
– Oral comprehension: 20 minutes
– Written production: 20 minutes
– Oral production: 15 minutes
Zertifikat A2
This second level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages presupposes basic linguistic knowledge. To pass this exam, one must be able to make oneself understood in simple and habitual situations, as well as to present oneself briefly (origin, studies, personal training, etc.).
– Reading comprehension: 30 minutes
– Oral comprehension: 30 minutes
– Written production: 30 minutes
– Oral production: 15 minutes
Zertifikat B1
This level shows that the learner is able to be autonomous and independent. He can tell experiences and events. It can also include the main information of everyday life.
– Reading comprehension: 65 minutes
– Oral comprehension: 40 minutes
– Written production: 60 minutes
– Oral production: 15 minutes
Zertifikat B2
This is an advanced level. The goal is to understand complex texts and to express themselves in more detail on different topics.
– Reading comprehension: 80 minutes
– Oral comprehension: 30 minutes
– Written production: 80 minutes
– Oral production: 10 to 15 minutes
Zertifikat C1
This level is intended for people close to the mother tongue. The learner can understand long and demanding texts. He speaks fluently on complex and detailed topics.
– Reading comprehension: 70 minutes
– Oral comprehension: 40 minutes
– Written production: 80 minutes
– Oral production: 10 to 15 minutes
Zertifikat C2
This exam proves a very advanced level, the highest of the CEFR. You must understand without difficulty what you read and hear, as well as how to express yourself fluently.
